News Flashes and Forgotten Tidbits

Ok, don't freak out. I'm not gonna write another monster-sized account today. I think my fingers are all a bit shorter after yesterday's keyboard pounding. I just wanted to mention a few things I forgot to post before about this weekend with the Baltimore Slightly Irregulars or WYLD STALLIONS, as Daryn has taken to calling us (which is hilarious considering I gave the Bill & Ted box set to Bart last night for his B-day... he LOVED it... TONS of extras!).

Numero Uno: I neglected to mention the AWESOME book that Lew gave me after we got back from the Chinese buffet (where I ate the winged amphibian). It's called "Shocked & Amazed: On and Off the Midway" by James Taylor (who's co-director of the Dime Museum in Baltimore) and Lathleen Kotcher. This book is ridiculously cool!!! Tons of pictures and lots of detailed biographies about the acts working in sideshows and 10-in-1 shows through history. This Taylor guy seems to be an authority on the lore and history of the sideshow. What a great book! Oh, and Lew wrote a message in the front which is one of the nicest I have ever received. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Numero Dos: As if Lew had not spoiled me enough, he made me one of the most spectacular and hilarious LJ icons I have EVER had the pleasure to see, let alone OWN. He must have gotten the idea when Daryn, Lew and Stephanie were talking about the new 100 icon limit you could purchase and were trying to decide which ones to include. There was a short silence and I said "I have two... and Lew gave me one of them." Though it IS true, it was meant to be funny, not a guilt trip, but WOOHOOO! I got an awesome new icon! Again, THANK YOU, LEW! :-)

Numero Tres: I'm sure the Irregulars are probably a little sick of me talking about Count Gore de Vol, but he's just so fucking cool! I listened to his latest Podcast yesterday after writing my Irregulars Tour/Horrorfind post and I was just sort of typing away and listening when... HOLY SHIT...I almost fell out of my chair because he mentioned me in the latest Podcast! Ok, it wasn't like he said my name or gave out my phone number, address and favorite flavor of ice cream, but he was talking about the new Podcast contest we was going to do to test how many people were listening to the broadcasts and he mentioned a fan at Horrorfind that had told him how excited they were about the Podcasts starting... THAT WAS ME! *deep breaths* yeah, I need to chill a bit... that run-on sentence is INSANE. So, needless to say, I was thrilled.

Numero Quatro: Ok, don't hold up your lighters or sing Kumbaya or anything, but I just wanted to tell the rest of the Irregulars what a fantastic weekend I had. It was a pleasure meeting ALL of you and I wish everyone ALWAYS laughed that hard when I drive the wrong direction on the highway. It just a little rare for me to find people with whom I not only share common interests, but also click with right off the bat. THANK YOU DARYN, STEPHANIE and LEW for your sharing your awesomeness w/ me!
